Terms of Service

STEN is a tool for planning outdoor expeditions — consolidating flights, lodging, trails, gear, bookings, and budgets in one place. It is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, pause, or discontinue features at any time.

You’re responsible for activity under your account and for the accuracy of what you enter. You keep ownership of your trip content. By adding details about other people (your crew), you confirm you have their permission to do so.

You can invite crew members and, optionally, generate a public “anyone with the link” share link. If you create a public link, you’re responsible for who you share it with — anyone holding it can view and edit that trip.

Don’t misuse STEN: no unlawful activity, no attempts to access trips you weren’t given access to, and nothing that disrupts or abuses the service or other users.

STEN is a planning aid, not a safety device. Drive times, leave-by times, weather, trail data, permits, and other figures may be estimated, incomplete, or out of date. Always verify critical information — conditions, permits, closures, and timing — with official and current sources before and during your trip. You are responsible for your own and your crew’s safety in the backcountry.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, STEN and its operators are not liable for any loss, injury, or damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on information within it.

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or abuses the service. You can stop using STEN and request deletion of your data at any time.

We may update these terms; we’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
